 Dr Alan Xiao,
Director Clinical Pharmacology AstraZeneca Dr. Alan Xiao has more than 10 years experience in optimal clinical drug development, with a number of successful NDA submissions. He is currently a director of clinical pharmacology in clinical pharmacology & DMPK in AstraZeneca at Wilmington, Delaware, USA. Before joining AstraZeneca, he worked as Research Fellow in Clinical PK/PD, Drug Metabolism in Merck at West Point, Pennsylvania, and before joining Merck worked as PK/PD Scientist in Cognigen Corporation at Buffalo, New York. His research interest lies in applying the advanced concepts and technologies developed in fundamental sciences and engineering to promote optimal drug development. He has led successful model-based drug development showcase projects, PK/PD and Go/No Go decision committees. He earned BS, MS and PhD degrees in chemistry, physicochemistry and environmental science & engineering, with 10 years experience in fundamental research in aquatic macromolecule chemistry, fluid mechanics, (ad-, ab-, de-)sorption and bioremediation.
