On completion of his PhD at the National Institute for Medical Research in London initially Lan worked for a number of biotechnology companies. He has 13 years industry experience including knowledge of preclinical and clinical outsourcing. Prior to joining Eisai Lan was part of the clinical outsourcing group in AstraZeneca. He joined Eisai in 2005 to set up the European clinical outsourcing and contracting function where his group is responsible for outsourcing a wide range of clinical services. As part of a global team he is also responsible for global clinical vendor management.
