Dr Yot Teerawattananon,

Dr Yot Teerawattananon is a leader and founder of the Health Intervention and Technology Assessment Program (www.hitap.net) which is a semi-autonomous research institute under the Bureau of Policy and Strategy, Office of the Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Public Health. He previously served as a medical doctor and director of Pong Hospital in northern Thailand where he developed an intense interest in Health Economics. Since 2000 he works as a researcher at the International Health Policy Program (IHPP), where he gained experience in health and policy research at the national level. He received the World Health Organization Fellowship Award to study in the UK where he completed his Ph.D. in Health Economics in 2006.

He recently acquired more than 5 millions USD from domestic and international support to manage the first health technology assessment institute in Thailand. He has more than 35 international publications and served as editor and associate editor of several national and international journals. Since 2007 he has been the youngest member of the national committee for development of the Thailand’s pharmaceutical reimbursement list.
