Arnold van Halteren (1975) completed his MSc in Human Movement Sciences. In 2002, he joined the Health Care Insurance Board, the Dutch reimbursement agency. During the first years he specialized in operational and strategic issues in the assessment and appraisal of medical devices and medical specialist care. In 2007, he was appointed Pharmaceuticals Reimbursement Manager, heading the team that carries out HTA evaluations (both pharmacotherapeutic and pharmaco-economic aspects) of medicinal products. In addition, he is responsible for a number of policy issues concerning the current functioning and future evolution of the reimbursement system.
