Dr. Klein is currently the Senior Director of Global Health Technology Assessment (HTA) and Customer Engagement for the Global Health Outcomes organization at Eli Lilly and Company. In this role Eric oversees all HTA and Outcomes Liaison work globally, with regional HTA and Outcomes Liaison leadership as direct reports. In this capacity Eric is responsible for ensuring that optimal HO expertise and resources are in place to support the Pricing, Reimbursement, and Access (PRA) strategy and activities in alignment with customer needs across the globe.

Eric joined Eli Lilly and Company in July 1995 in a clinical research capacity where he was a Clinical Rresearch Administrator responsible for phase 2 and phase 3 studies in the areas of Alzheimer’s disease, migraine, and the treatment of both acute and chronic pain. Eric joined the Outcomes Research organization of Lilly USA in January of 1998 where he spent 6 years focused on building the organizations capabilities with a primary focus on building the Outcome Liaison function. In September 2004 Eric transitioned to Lilly’s Global Health Outcomes organization where over the next six years Eric held leadership roles associated with development across product and program phase research as well as the development of business management and operations capabilities including quality, capacity management, capability management and development, strategic planning, and project management. In January of 2010, Eric returned to the US Affiliate to assume responsibilities for strategic transformation efforts within Global Health Outcomes focused on improving the customer experience with Lilly. In October of 2010, he assumed responsibilities for the US Health Technology component of Global Health Outcomes.

Prior to joining Eli Lilly and Company, Eric worked for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Western New York in a Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) capacity as well as in the Department of Health Economics and Outcomes Research. Eric was an editor of the ISPOR Lexicon, the first publication of ISPOR, and has served on the Editorial Advisory Board for the Journal of Managed Care Pharmacy.
