Peter Clompen, Global Outsourcing Manager, Actelion Pharmaceuticals Ltd

As Global Clinical Outsourcing Manager at Actelion Pharmaceuticals, based in Basel Switzerland, Peter is part of a small team that is responsible for strategic and tactical support of outsourced services for all phase II and III studies across the globe including CRO, IVRS/IWRS, Central lab, ECG and Imaging Services. He acts as the Global Alliance Manager for Central Labs. Peter originally graduated as a Chemical Engineer at the University of Gent, Belgium with an additional Master in Biotechnology and a Master in Food Science and Technology. He’s built his career path closely tight to the Pharmaceutical Industry. Prior to his current role, he has been with Johnson & Johnson for over 7 years in different procurement and sourcing roles in both its’ Pharma and Consumer sector. His experience spans most of the spectrum of R&D Outsourcing. Before that, he acted as Business Development manager for an analytical lab in Belgium. In that role, Peter was responsible for building the Nordic and Western European market and covered the key account management for a quickly expanding CRO.
