Thierry Lavé is Head of Modeling and Simulation, Non Clinical Safety, Hoffmann-La Roche. He received his degree in Pharmacy (1987) and Ph.D. (1992) from the Strasbourg University, France. Thierry has also 5 year of experience working as Internist at the University Hospital in Strasbourg and holds a degree in applied statistics for clinical research. In 1992, Thierry joined the Preclinical Pharmacokinetic Department at Roche, Basel as a post-doc working on translational pharmacokinetic models and moved then into a DMPK project leader position taking care of discovery and development projects. In 2002 he became Head of Modeling and Simulation for DMPK Basel with global responsibilities since 2003. From 2008 to 2010, Thierry was Head of DMPK Project leaders for discovery and development in addition to his position as Global Head of Modeling and Simulation. During his career, Thierry has been working on all stages of discovery and development and across various therapeutic areas. Thierry has been contributing to a regular flow of publications and external presentations on translational PK/PD over the years. He is the author or co-author of about 60 papers and is a member of the editorial board of Journal of Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics. Thierry is also teaching Pharmacokinetics/Pharmacodynamics at various Universities, such as Strasbourg, Besançon, Basel, Bern, Helsinki.
