Chase Miller’s research and work experience in the area of computational biology is primarily focused on genomic-based software web development. In particular, he is interested in the development of tools that allow for the analysis of complex high-throughput biological data and for the visualization of very large genomic datasets. Towards these goals, he has created a number of successful open source projects including Scribl, a web-based genomic charting library (http://chmille4.github.com/Scribl/), and IOBIO (http://iobio.io), a web-based real-time genomic analysis and visualization framework. His current research focuses on combining visualization and analysis in ways that both provoke new insights from complex/big data and empower non-computational researchers to make use of such data.
